OUR TESTIMONY
In December 2015, Dominic and Alidia’s lives took a sudden change in direction during a vacation to Singapore, a favorite destination for the Symes family, who loved to travel together. One of the highlights of their trips to Singapore was attending sermons at New Creation Church, lead by Joseph Prince. They were inspired by his teachings on Grace and the healing benefits of Holy communion. During this visit, they attended a transformative sermon where Joseph Prince shared a powerful message on communion and its deep, healing power. During their trip, they received a life-altering phone call: Dominic’s father had been diagnosed with cancer. Believing deeply in the miraculous healing power of Jesus ‘blood the passionate couple chose to find a way of getting communion into the lives of more people with a primary goal of reaching the most unreachable parts of Africa with the hope to HEAL OUR LAND.
They decided to invest time in research and development to find a packaging machine capable of making the pre-filled communion cups they envisioned. For an entire year, they tirelessly explored every corner of the internet and attended trade shows, searching for such a machine. Alidia’s unwavering faith and sensitivity to God’s guidance led her to propose canceling their romantic getaway to Greece. She felt a prophetic prompting directing them abroad to find the necessary machine. Trusting in Alidia’s spiritual insight, Dominic supported her wholeheartedly. With the prayers of their entire home church, Linc Church Salt Rock in Ballito, they embarked on what they knew was part of God’s plan.
They immersed themselves in the trade shows, determined to find what they sought. For two days, they shared their vision, holding up a sample of a generic plastic cup and seeking anyone who could help bring it to life. On the second day, their prayers were answered when Alidia met a woman who didn’t have the exact machine but connected them to someone who did. Language barriers and unfamiliar territories could not hinder God’s vision. With some machine design changes, they proudly acquired their first communion cup machine, months later, enabling them to supply pre-filled communion cups to churches across South Africa.
Now that the communion cup machine had been sourced, Dominic and Alidia knew they needed to find partners who shared their value system and passion to bring this mission into Africa. God positioned Mike and Cindy Jahnig alongside them as incredible influencers in the local community. Through this God ordained partnership, The Miracle Meal RSA was born, ready to serve and bring hope to communities across the continent.
Once the communion cup machine arrived in South Africa, Dominic took charge of the manufacturing side of the communion cups. He leveraged his qualifications as a mechanical engineer and his experience in manufacturing to ensure the product’s success. With patience and perseverance, Dominic navigated through endless packaging material problems, ultimately achieving a successful outcome. As a result, The Miracle Meal began its journey into churches across Africa.
After the success of The Miracle Meal in South Africa, and with their love of traveling, Dominic, Alidia and their two girls began exploring new horizons by traveling to America. They sought to build relationships with churches across the country, sharing their vision and the impact of The Miracle Meal. As they connected with various communities, interest arose about bringing The Miracle Meal to the USA.
God ordained specific partnerships and spirit-led friendships during this time, allowing The Miracle Meal to expand its reach. It was during these travels that Dominic and Alidia met Farrukh and Huma Azim. A mutual partnership was formed with them, further strengthening the mission and opening new doors for The Miracle Meal in the United States.
Farrukh and Huma owned a successful food packaging company, making this an easy process for them to add an additional packaging machine to their existing production line. A handshake secured this partnership, and the first Miracle Meal machine was shipped to the USA in November 2019.
The Symes family returned to the USA in the same month the machine arrived, and Alidia felt the Holy Spirit prompting, suggesting that instead of returning to South Africa in February 2020, that they should stay until Easter. This decision proved timely, as shortly thereafter, borders were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this period, The Miracle Meal communion cup demand increased, and churches were eager to use this new germ-free cup as a fresh new concept for sharing communion. The product’s convenience and significance resonated with many, allowing The Miracle Meal to make a profound impact in a time of global uncertainty.
In 2020 The Miracle Meal became a well-known communion cup brand across America and has grown ever since to include many global markets across the world.
The profound message of this journey is that all GLORY goes to GOD alone and that when we choose to. The more we surrender to His will in our lives, the more capacity He gives us to live out our God given purpose on this earth. Faith in God, being the key ingredient on this journey.
